Telangana Government exempts all Information Technology Enabled Services (ITES) and Information Technology Establishments in Telangana State from the provisions of sections 15, 16, 21, 23 and 31 of the Telangana Shops and Establishments Act, 1988 for a further period of four (4) years w.e.f.30.05.2024 subject to following conditions:
1. Weekly working hours for employees capped at 48. Overtime wages to be paid beyond 48 hours.
2. Weekly off for all employees.
3. Safe transport and security for young and female night shift employees.
4. Issuance of identity cards for all employees and adherence to welfare measures.
5. Compensatory holidays for working on notified holidays with wages.
6. Detailed background checks for drivers.
7. Supervised and safe route planning for employee transport.
8. Confidentiality of female employees’ contact information.
9. Selection of routes in such a way that no women employees shall be picked up first and dropped last
10. Security guards for night shift vehicles
11. Random vehicle checks by supervisors and a control room for monitoring.
12. The time after / before which security should be provided to women employees for cab drop offs / pickups should be specified
13. Exemption from maintaining statutory registers in hard copies, allowing soft copies.
14. Conditions stipulated above shall not be detrimental to the employees working in the said establishments.
15. Maintenance of integrated registers and returns as per specified guidelines.
16. The exemption may be revoked without notice if conditions are violated
