The GST Department had earlier issued an advisory on 24th September 2024 regarding the archival of return data from the GST Portal after seven years. Accordingly, the data was archived in line with the data archival policy. The data archival process was implemented on a monthly basis. Consequently, the return data for July 2017 and August 2017 was archived on 1st August and 1st September, respectively.
However, in light of requests received from the trade due to difficulties faced, the data has been restored on the portal. The GST Department has therefore recommended that stakeholders download and save the data if needed, as the archival policy will be implemented again after providing advance notice.
