The Directorate General of Foreign Trade has given a clarification on the requirement of No Objection Certificate (NOC) in case of procurement of Acetic Anhydride from Special Economic Zones (SEZ) by an Advance Authorization Holder.
It is clarified that the requirements in Paragraph 4.08 (ii) of the HBP 2023, which mandates obtaining an NOC from the Drug Controller and Narcotics Commissioner, do not apply when Acetic Anhydride is procured from an SEZ unit against a Certificate of Supplies, provided the product is manufactured within the SEZ.
