The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has launched an electronic campaign to address mismatches between income and transactions in the Annual Information Statement (AIS) and Income Tax Returns (ITRs) for FY 2023-24 and FY 2021-22. The initiative also targets individuals with high-value transactions or taxable income in AIS who haven’t filed ITRs.
Key Deadlines:
1. Revised/belated ITRs for FY 2023-24: December 31, 2024
2. Updated ITRs for FY 2021-22: March 31, 2025
3. Taxpayers can review their AIS on the e-filing portal and provide feedback if needed. This campaign aligns with the government’s vision of transparency and voluntary compliance.
