The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) has amended the Deviation Settlement Mechanism and Related Matters Regulations,2024 which shall come into force from December 23rd, 2024.
Regulation 3 Amendments:
New clauses have been added to limit power generation based on connectivity granted. Additional clauses clarify open access power sales for renewable and non-renewable energy sources.
Regulation 8 Amendments:
The charges for injecting infirm power will be zero, except when infirm power is scheduled after a successful trial run. In such cases, deviation charges will apply based on the seller’s type. If the system frequency exceeds 50.05 Hz, charges for deviation on infirm power will be waived.
