Advisory on Biometric Aadhaar Authentication and Document Verification for GST Registration

GSTN has introduced biometric-based Aadhaar authentication and document verification for GST registration applicants in Arunachal Pradesh effective from 28 December 2024, under the amended Rule 8 of CGST Rules, 2017.

Key points:

1. Applicants may receive an email with a link for either OTP-based Aadhaar authentication or an appointment for biometric verification at a GST Suvidha Kendra (GSK).
2. Biometric-based authentication requires booking an appointment via the provided link and visiting the GSK with the necessary documents (Aadhaar, PAN, and original application documents).
3. Appointment confirmation will be sent via email, and applicants must complete the biometric process within the permissible period to generate the ARN.
4. GSK operations will follow the state administration’s guidelines.
