Nationwide Ban on Manufacture, Possession, and Import of Electrical Detonators from April 2025

In accordance with the communication received from the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) and the relevant Gazette notification, manufacturers are hereby informed that they must align their manufacturing capacity to ensure complete utilization of their stock and meet the phasing out target by the end of March 2025.

Additionally, it is notified that effective from April 1, 2025, the manufacture, possession, and import of electrical detonators (explosives of Class 6 Div. 3 or UN Class 1 Division 1) will be banned nationwide. This action is taken with the approval of the competent authority.
