Notification/Circular No.: File No. 1-2/2023-AS-IV
Document Date: January 28, 2025
Applicable Act/Rule: Telecommunications Act, 2023
The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has introduced a new provision on the Saral Sanchar Portal to automate and simplify the submission of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) compliance reports.
“1.2 The Licensee shall declare the Indian & Foreign equity structure (both direct and in-direct) in the Licensee company and submit a compliance report regarding compliance of FDI norms and security conditions on 1st day of January of every year to the Licensor in Proforma as may be prescribed from time to time. This is to be certified by Company Secretary or Statutory Auditor, countersigned by duly authorized Director of the Licensee Company.
When there is a change in FDI in the Licensee’s company, the Licensee shall also submit the FDI compliance report within 15 days.”
With the new Saral Sanchar Portal module, all licensees are now mandated to submit their FDI compliance reports exclusively through this portal.
This initiative aims to streamline the compliance process, enhance transparency, and reduce the compliance burden on licensees. Licensees must ensure timely submission of their FDI compliance reports via the portal to avoid non-compliance with the Unified License conditions.
