Through this notification, EPFO has given employers more time until 15th February 2025 to complete two critical tasks for their employees:

1. UAN Activation: Ensuring that every employee’s Universal Account Number (UAN), which uniquely identifies their EPF account, is activated.
2. AADHAAR Seeding in Bank Accounts: Linking employees’ bank accounts with their AADHAAR numbers, which is necessary for processing benefits under the Employees’ Deposit Linked Insurance (EDLI) Scheme.

Employers and EPFO offices are expected to take proactive steps to meet these targets, such as organising camps or special drives in areas where compliance is low. This extension aims to simplify processes and ensure that all eligible employees can receive their EPF benefits without delays.
