Display of State Emblem of India

Applicable Act/Rule: State Emblem of India (Prohibition of Improper Use) Act, 2005

The Ministry of Home Affairs has issued a directive to all State Governments, UT Administrations, and Central Government Departments regarding the proper display and authorized use of the State Emblem of India. 
Following are the key points: 

1. Complete Display: Government agencies must ensure the State Emblem includes the motto “Satyameva Jayate” in Devanagari script below the Lion Capital, as per the State Emblem of India (Prohibition of Improper Use) Act, 2005. 

2. Improper Use: Many agencies have been omitting the motto or using incorrect designs, violating the Act. 

3. Unauthorized Use: The Emblem is being misused by unauthorized individuals and organizations on stationery, vehicles, etc.

4. Legal Restrictions: Only authorized entities can use the Emblem, as per the 2005 Act and related Rules (2007 & 2010 Amendments). 

5. Enforcement & Awareness: 

a. Strict action must be taken against violations. 
b. Government agencies should issue instructions, create public awareness, and ensure compliance through media campaigns
