Extension of Customs Duty Exemption Period Under Notification No. 64/2023

Notification/Circular No.: Notification No. 17/2025-Customs

Document Date: 7th March 2025

Applicable Act/Rule: Customs Act, 1962

The Central Government has extended the customs duty exemption on Yellow Peas under Notification No. 64/2023-Customs. Previously, this exemption was valid until 28th February 2025, but it has now been extended up to 31st May 2025.

This means that imports of Yellow Peas into India will continue to be exempted from both:

  1. Basic Customs Duty (as per the First Schedule of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975).
  2. Agriculture Infrastructure and Development Cess (as per the Finance Act, 2021).

This extension ensures continued relief for importers and the domestic industry, preventing disruptions in supply and price fluctuations.
