Amendment to Standard Protocol (SoP) lor complaint Redressal over Social Media

Notification/Circular No. F. No. 16015/05/2022/CAQM-Social Media/147

Document Date: May 9, 2025

Applicable Act/Rule: Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981

CAQM had earlier issued a Standard Operating Procedure (SoP) on January 13, 2025, to guide how pollution-related complaints received via social media platforms should be resolved by various government and pollution control authorities in the National Capital Region (NCR).

Clause – Para iii in the SOP has now been amended. Previously, after resolving a complaint, the relevant implementing agency “may” mark it as completed and submit an Action Taken Report (ATR) along with supporting photos or documents.

Now, this “may” is substituted with “shall”, making it mandatory for implementing agencies to:

  • Mark the complaint as completed
  • Provide an ATR with documents or photos
  • Tag the response back to CPCB (Central Pollution Control Board) and CAQM
