Gujarat RERA Order: Display of Unique Registration No., Website & QR Code in Real Estate Ads

Notification/Circular No.: GujRERA/Order-108

Document Date: May 19, 2025

Applicable Act/Rule: Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016

Applicable Section/Rule: Section 11(2), Section 37

Effective Date: June 15, 2025

Under Section 11(2) of the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016, any advertisement or prospectus related to a RERA-registered real estate project must display the project’s unique RERA registration number and the official RERA website URL. This requirement ensures that interested parties can easily access project-related information online. However, ambiguity existed regarding the exact placement, format, and presentation style of these details in advertisements across various media. Often, the registration number displayed was lengthy and unreadable, defeating the purpose of clear information dissemination.

To improve clarity and accessibility, the Gujarat RERA Authority issued Order No. 108, which mandates the following key directions effective from June 15, 2025:

  • Advertisements and promotional materials whether in print, electronic, or social media must prominently display unique RERA registration number, RERA website URL (https://gujrera.gujarat.gov.in), QR Code provided in the registration certificate.
  • The displayed registration number and website link must be easily readable, using font sizes equal to or larger than contact details in advertisements.
  • A dedicated block must be created in the advertisement to show these details clearly, with the unique registration number at the top and the website URL at the bottom, ensuring the QR Code is scannable with ease.
  • This block must be placed on the top-right corner of the first page of print advertisements or brochures. For multi-page advertisements, this block must appear only on the first page.
  • For advertisements on social media or video formats:
    • The block must cover the entire screen for at least three seconds at the end of the ad.
    • Video ads must display the block on screen for at least three seconds.
    • Audio ads must mention only the unique registration number verbally.
  • All allottee-related documents such as booking forms, allotment letters, and brochures must include this block in the specified location i.e. top-right corner.
  • The unique registration number will be used only in advertisements; all official documents must continue to use the full registration number.
  • Non-compliance with these directions will attract legal action under Section 63 of the RERA Act against the promoter.
  • This order supersedes the earlier Order No. 98, rendering it non-applicable from the date of implementation.
