Launch of Ayush Suraksha Portal to Combat Misleading Advertisements and Adverse Drug Reactions

Notification/Circular No.: 2132705 dated May 30, 2025

Applicable Act/Rule: Drugs and Cosmetic Act, 1940

Ministry of Ayush has launched the Ayush Suraksha Portal, a centralized digital platform designed to monitor and address misleading advertisements and adverse drug reactions (ADRs) related to traditional medicine systems in India. This initiative follows a Supreme Court directive mandating a robust system for real-time monitoring and coordinated action to safeguard consumer interests in the Ayush sector.

Ayush Suraksha Portal integrates data from multiple stakeholders including State Licensing Authorities, national pharmacovigilance centers, and regulatory bodies such as CDSCO, CCPA, NCISM, and FSSAI. This platform enables consumers, healthcare professionals, and authorities to report misleading advertisements and ADRs easily and transparently. The portal facilitates swift regulatory response and data-driven analysis, improving accountability across the sector. Public access ensures citizen participation in safeguarding product integrity. The portal was developed with support from the Central Council for Research in Siddha and aligns with the National Pharmacovigilance Program. The Ministry conducted a training session for nodal officers before launch to ensure smooth adoption.
