National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority Fixes Retail Prices for Specified Drug Formulations

Notification/Circular No.: S.O. 2469(E) dated June 3 ,2025
Applicable Act/Rule: Drugs (Prices Control) Order, 2013

National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA), under its price control mandate, has fixed the retail prices of 41 drug formulations based on applications received from manufacturers and marketers.

NPPA has notified retail prices (excluding GST) for a broad range of formulations as listed in the official order. The fixed prices apply only to the specific manufacturers and marketing companies that submitted Form-I for price fixation under the Drugs (Prices Control) Order, 2013.

Key compliance instructions include:

  • Manufacturers must issue price lists in Form–V to NPPA via the IPDMS and share copies with State Drug Controllers and dealers.
  • Retailers must display the updated price list prominently.
  • Any overcharging will attract penalties, including repayment with interest under the DPCO, 2013 and Essential Commodities Act, 1955.
  • Prior price orders for the same drugs and companies now stand superseded.
