Updation of Mobile number & E-mail id associated with DPD Registration

Notification/Circular No.: CUS/RMSF/MISC/19/2025

Document Date: February 17, 2025

Applicable Act/Rule: Customs Act,1962

  • Jawaharlal Nehru Custom House (JNCH) introduced an online module to enhance the processes of “One Time Default Intimation” (OTDI)* and “72 hours prior intimation”.
  • Importers are now able to submit requests for Container Freight Station (CFS) changes through their official email addresses. An OTP will be sent to their registered mobile number as an additional security measure.
  • After verifying the authenticity of the importer, any CFS change request will be reflected in real-time on the JNCH website.
  • Some e-mail IDs have been linked with multiple DPD** registrations, leading to concerns about potential misuse of the system.
  • To address this and improve transparency, the office has started automatically updating mobile numbers and e-mail IDs based on the IEC registration data.
  • Importers are urged to check the accuracy of their registered email IDs and mobile numbers in the DPD registration. In case of discrepancies, the matter should be raised with the Additional Commissioner of the DPD Cell.

* OTDI (One Time Default Intimation): OTDI refers to the process where importers or exporters inform the customs authorities about the default or issue related to the clearance of goods at a Container Freight Station (CFS) or Port Terminal.

** DPD (Direct Port Delivery): DPD is a system introduced by Indian Customs to allow importers to directly take delivery of their cargo from the port, bypassing the need for the goods to be stored at a Container Freight Station (CFS).
