Applicable Act/Rule – Employees’ Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952
EPFO has issued several circulars since November 2024 directing employers to ensure activation of Universal Account Numbers (UANs) and seeding of Aadhaar-linked bank accounts for eligible employees. These steps are mandatory to avail benefits under the EDLI (Employees’ Deposit Linked Insurance) Scheme.
Timeline for UAN activation and Aadhaar-linked bank account seeding has been extended until 30th June, 2025 for establishments covered under EPFO
