The State Government had earlier published the draft Rajasthan Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Rules, 2023 inviting objections and suggestions from stakeholders. After considering the need for revision, a fresh draft of the proposed rules has now been issued for public information and consultation. These rules apply across establishments, factories and other workplaces covered under the Code within the State of Rajasthan. The draft will be considered after the expiry of forty-five days from the date copies of the Gazette are made available to the public.

The notification publishes the Draft of the Rajasthan Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Rules, 2026 for public consultation. Key operative provisions include:

• Short title and commencement:
  “These rules may be called the Rajasthan Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Rules, 2026… They shall come into force from the date of their final publication in the Official Gazette.”
• The draft rules propose comprehensive provisions covering:
  • Registration, licensing and renewal procedures for factories and establishments
  • Fee structure for registration and licensing across different categories of establishments
  • Duties and responsibilities of employers and employees including appointment letters, medical examinations and reporting of accidents and diseases
  • Constitution of State Occupational Safety and Health Advisory Board
  • Safety committees, safety officers and occupational safety requirements
  • Working hours, overtime, leave provisions and weekly holidays
  • Maintenance of statutory registers, records and returns
• Stakeholders may submit objections or suggestions to the designated authority within 45 days from publication, after which the State Government will consider finalisation of the rules.
