The notification is issued by the Bureau of Indian Standards under the Department of Consumer Affairs in pursuance of Rule 15(1) of the Bureau of Indian Standards Rules, 2018.
The notification specifies the establishment of Indian Standard SP 7: 2026 titled “National Building Construction Standards 2026” with effect from April 30, 2026. It also specifies that the existing standard SP 7: 2016 titled “National Building Code of India 2016” shall remain in force concurrently until its withdrawal on April 30, 2026. The provisions apply to standards listed in the schedule.
