Ministry of Labour & Employment issued Notification No. S.O. 2144(E) dated April 30, 2026 published in the Gazette of India (Extraordinary), Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii). The circular dated May 07, 2026 circulated the notification for information and necessary action.
The notification provides applicability of the Code on Social Security under section 1(4) to the areas of Andrott, Amini, Kadmat, Kalpeni, Chetlat and Kiltan Islands under the Union Territory of Lakshadweep with effect from May 01, 2026.
The circular states the following notified and non-notified district status:
“Fully Notified Districts – 636
Partially Notified Districts – 92
Non Notified Districts – 51
Total – 728/779”
