Directorate General of Foreign Trade issued Notification No. 17/2026-27 amending the import policy for silver covered under ITC (HS) codes 71069221 and 71069229 under Chapter 71 of ITC (HS), 2022 Schedule-I (Import Policy).

The notification revises the import policy for the following ITC (HS) codes:

The notification further provides that the existing import policy condition “Subject to RBI Regulations” has been substituted with “Subject to Policy Condition No. 7 of this Chapter” for both the above ITC (HS) codes.

“71069221 – Bar: Containing 99.9 percent or more by weight of silver – Existing Import Policy: Free – Revised Import Policy: Restricted.”

“71069229 – Bar — Other – Existing Import Policy: Free – Revised Import Policy: Restricted.”
