Aadhaar Authentication Enabled for Shram Suvidha Portal

Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, after consultation with the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), vide letter no. eF. No. 13(16)/2022-EG-II dated April 20, 2026, permitted the Ministry of Labour and Employment to perform Aadhaar authentication and use Aadhaar numbers during authentication for establishing the identity of Aadhaar number holders on the Shram Suvidha Portal.

The Ministry of Labour and Employment issued this notification to give effect to the said permission. Aadhaar authentication will be performed for verification of user details for modules on the Shram Suvidha Portal. The authentication will be conducted on a voluntary basis. The Ministry will use only Yes/No and eKYC authentication facilities for this purpose. The notification came into effect from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette, i.e., May 15, 2026.
