DGFT issued Office Memoranda clarifying whether specific items fall under the Special Chemicals, Organisms, Materials, Equipment and Technologies (SCOMET) list. To streamline access to these clarifications, CBIC has compiled them into a consolidated online repository to assist Customs officials in determining SCOMET applicability.

CBIC has compiled a consolidated repository of SCOMET-related clarifications issued by DGFT from time to time. This repository has been made accessible to all Customs formations via the CBIC website at https://www.cbic.gov.in/entities/cbic-content-mst/MTcxMTI3.

The repository will be updated periodically as and when further clarifications are received from DGFT. It is intended to serve as a reference point for Customs officers during the assessment of export consignments. However, each item must still be examined on a case-by-case basis, considering its technical specifications, end-use, and other relevant factors to determine its actual coverage under the SCOMET list.
