Notification/Circular No. 120017/27/GRAP/2021/CAQM 1616 DT dated May 19, 2026
Effective Date: May 19, 2026
Commission for Air Quality Management in NCR and Adjoining Areas (CAQM), in pursuance of directions of the Hon’ble Supreme Court, had issued a modified schedule of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) vide its order dated November 21, 2025, for implementation by all concerned. The Sub-Committee on GRAP, in its meeting held on May 19, 2026, reviewed the air quality scenario in the region along with the IMD/IITM forecast. The AQI of Delhi recorded 208, falling in the ‘Poor’ category (AQI: 201–300), on May 19, 2026, with the IMD/IITM forecast indicating AQI to remain in the ‘Poor’ category in the coming days.
The Sub-Committee decided to invoke all actions under Stage I (‘Poor’ Air Quality) of the extant GRAP in the entire NCR with immediate effect. All concerned agencies across the NCR are directed to implement, monitor, and review the actions under Stage I to prevent further deterioration of AQI levels. All implementing agencies are directed to keep strict vigil and intensify measures under the extant GRAP schedule. Citizens are requested to adhere to the citizen charter under GRAP Stage I. The Sub-Committee will keep a close watch on the air quality scenario and review the situation from time to time for further action based on Air Quality in Delhi and IMD/IITM forecast.
