Notification/Circular No.: Document dated September 03, 2025
The National Physical Laboratory (NPL), under the CSIR framework, has made the certification scheme for air emission monitoring equipment operative. All manufacturers of Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS), whether of Indian or foreign make, intending to install such systems in stacks of industries in the Delhi-NCR region must obtain product certification from NPL. Manufacturers are required to submit a duly filled application for Air Pollution Monitoring Equipment Product Certification under the NPLI CS scheme. Where manufacturers have certifications from other recognised international agencies, they must submit copies of such certificates along with conformity reports and test reports. The fee for certification varies depending on parameters and instrument status and is available upon request from the Centre for Calibration & Testing at NPL. Manufacturers must apply within a week from the date of this notification, failing which installation, operation, and connection to the CPCB’s Central Server may not be permitted.
