Applicable Act/Rule: The Andhra Pradesh Shops and Establishments (Amendment) Act, 2025 (Act No. 17 of 2025)

The Andhra Pradesh Shops and Establishments Act, 1988 governs employment terms, working hours, and conditions in shops and commercial establishments. The Amendment Act, 2025 was enacted to update regulatory provisions in line with recent labour reforms.
Through this notification, the Government declared that the Andhra Pradesh Shops and Establishments (Amendment) Act, 2025 shall come into force from November 3, 2025. The Act now stands fully operational, making all amended provisions—relating to employment conditions, compliance, and enforcement—legally effective.
