Applicable Section/Rule – Rule 14A

  • Under the Minimum Wages Act, 1948, many States link a component of wages termed Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA) to the movements of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for workers, to protect real wages against rising prices

    The declaration is as follows:

    • For Part-I (Industrial Workers): the average State Industrial Workers CPI has increased by 2 points, from 1939 to 1941.
    • For Part-II (Agricultural Workers): the average CPI remains unchanged at 1492 (no increase).
      These numbers apply for the period October 1, 2025 to March 31, 2026 for Scheduled Employments in Telangana, for the computation of VDA under the Minimum Wages Act, 1948.
