Promoters of registered real estate projects are required to submit quarterly progress updates on the K-RERA web portal within the prescribed timelines under the Act and the Rules. The quarterly filing requirement has been operational through the K-RERA portal since the quarter 2018–19. The Authority observed instances of delay and non-submission of quarterly progress reports within the timelines prescribed under Section 11(1) read with Rule 15(1)(D). Accordingly, the Authority has decided to impose penalties for such non-compliance for the Financial Year 2025–26.
The Karnataka Real Estate Regulatory Authority has decided to levy a penalty of Rs. 25,000 (Rupees Twenty Five Thousand only) for each quarterly report for delay or non-submission of the respective quarterly progress reports for the Financial Year 2025–26, in accordance with the provisions of the Act, the Rules, and the Regulations made thereunder.
The penalty for delayed submission or non-submission of quarterly reports shall be enforceable, and promoters shall be required to submit the respective quarterly updates for the Financial Year 2025–26 and pay the applicable penalty through RERA e-Payment, made available under the promoter’s respective project login on the K-RERA web portal.
A final opportunity has been granted to promoters to submit the quarterly reports for Quarter 1 of 2025–26, Quarter 2 of 2025–26, and Quarter 3 of 2025–26 on or before February 20, 2026, without payment of penalty.
In the event of failure to submit the quarterly reports for the aforesaid three quarters on or before February 20, 2026, the promoter shall be liable to pay a penalty of Rs. 25,000 for each delayed quarterly report, simultaneously with submission of such reports.
Promoters are required to submit the Quarter 4 quarterly report for the Financial Year 2025–26 on or before April 15, 2026, to avoid levy of penalty from April 16, 2026.
The Authority shall initiate action for recovery of penalty from February 20, 2026, for delayed submission or non-submission of quarterly reports for Quarter 1, Quarter 2, and Quarter 3 of the Financial Year 2025–26, in accordance with the provisions of the Act, the Rules, and the Regulations made thereunder.
