NPCI to Discontinue UPI Collect Requests for P2P Transactions

Circular No./Notice No.  –  NPCI/UPI/OC/220/2025-26 dated July 28, 2025

The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) had introduced Aadhaar seeding with UAN in The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has issued a circular (NPCI/UPI/OC/220/2025-26) announcing the discontinuation of the UPI Collect Request service for Person to Person (P2P) transactions. This new directive follows a previous circular from October 31, 2019, which had established guidelines on transaction limits for P2P Collect requests.

Effective October 1, 2025, UPI P2P Collect requests will no longer be processed on the UPI platform. Consequently, all member banks, Payment Service Providers (PSPs), and UPI Apps are instructed to implement the necessary changes to their systems and operational processes to ensure that no P2P Collect transaction is initiated, routed, or processed beyond this date.
