Central Government, through the Department of Telecommunication, issued this notification under the Telecommunication Act, 2023 read with the Telecommunications (Framework to Notify Standards, Conformity Assessment and Certification) Rules, 2025. The notification specifies revised standards for telecommunication equipment as published in the Official Gazette.
The notification specifies revised standards for essential requirements applicable to telecommunication equipment. These include TEC 40162602 – Standard for Essential Requirements for SIM, and TEC 34732602 – Standard for Essential Requirements for IP Security Equipment. The existing standards and the revised standards shall remain in force concurrently for a period of ninety days from the date of publication of the notification. After the expiry of this period, only the revised standards shall be applicable.
