Applicable Act/Rule: Tamil Nadu Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016
TNRERA had earlier issued directions regarding the advertisement of real estate projects to ensure transparency, requiring inclusion of RERA registration numbers, QR codes, and the Authority’s website in print and digital media.
The Authority has amended the previous guidelines as follows: Newspapers, magazines, and website advertisements must include the TNRERA registration number with QR code and the Authority’s website, preferably at the top right corner. Minimum font sizes: 12 for quarter-page or larger, 8 for smaller ads. Multi-page ads must display these details on every page. Classified ads are exempt from QR codes but must display the RERA registration number and Authority’s website. For multiple projects in one advertisement, each project’s registration number must be listed, with the website address placed appropriately.
