The Machinery and Electrical Equipment Safety (Omnibus Technical Regulation) Order, 2024 was issued by the Ministry of Heavy Industries to mandate safety and conformity requirements for specified machinery and electrical equipment. The Order was notified vide S.O. 3649(E) dated August 28, 2024 and published in the Gazette of India. Subsequently, the Central Government reviewed the necessity of the said Order in public interest. Accordingly, a decision has been taken to rescind the said notification.
The Central Government hereby rescinds the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Heavy Industries issued vide number S.O. 3649(E), dated the 28th August, 2024, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii), relating to the Machinery and Electrical Equipment Safety (Omnibus Technical Regulation) Order, 2024, with immediate effect.
