Exemption for White Category Industries from Consent Requirements

Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB) had earlier granted exemptions to certain cottage and small-scale industries that had no pollution potential from obtaining Consent to Establish (CTE) and Consent to Operate (CTO). Following the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB)’s harmonised industrial classification system, industries are now categorised into Red, Orange, Green, White, and Blue based on their Pollution Index (PI).

Applicability of SCOMET – Consolidated Repository

DGFT issued Office Memoranda clarifying whether specific items fall under the Special Chemicals, Organisms, Materials, Equipment and Technologies (SCOMET) list. To streamline access to these clarifications, CBIC has compiled them into a consolidated online repository to assist Customs officials in determining SCOMET applicability.
