Under the Ease of Doing Business initiative, the Government of Telangana has exercised its powers under Section 73(4) of the Telangana Shops and Establishments Act, 1988, to relax certain working hour restrictions for commercial establishments (excluding shops).
Haryana Prescribes Conditions for Employing Women in Night Shifts in Factories
Under Section 66(1)(b) of the Factories Act, 1948, women are restricted from working during night shifts unless specifically exempted by the State Government. This notification by Haryana Government supersedes all previous notifications and sets out updated safety and operational conditions for granting such exemptions. Rajasthan Grants Conditional Exemption for Employing Women at Night in Shops and Commercial Establishments
Rajasthan Government has issued a conditional exemption under Section 22 of the Rajasthan Shops and Commercial Establishments Act, 1958. This enables shops and commercial establishments registered under the Act to employ women during night shifts, subject to compliance with prescribed conditions.

To enable round-the-clock operations in sectors like IT, ITeS, banking, export-oriented units, logistics, warehousing, and 3-star and above hotels, the Haryana Government has notified a new set of conditions for employing women during night shifts (08:00 PM to 06:00 AM), ensuring their safety, security, and welfare. Environment (Protection) Third Amendment Rules, 2025
